Luke 22:44 KJV
“And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.”
God never promised us a pain-free life. As a matter of fact, God never
once said we will be free from trouble because we are in His presence.
He rather said He would be with us in trouble. He said when we go
through the waters, they would not overshadow us, and when we go through
the fire it would not burn us.
There are many scriptures where God told
us that we would go through pain and suffering in this world, but that
we should be of good cheer because he had overcome the world.
Joseph did
nothing wrong but he went through pain and suffering, but God was with
him, and according to our text, our Lord Jesus also went through pain
and agony, but there was a way He handled it.
I once assisted a
friend in the running around for his wife's delivery of their first
baby, and at a point he left me to be praying outside the Labour room
while his wife was delivering because he had to get an important item
for the nurses.
All of a sudden, I heard my friend's wife shouting and
complaining to the nurses about how much pain she was in. The nurse’s
response marveled me; she said "do not waste the pain, use it".
She
further said "the pain is an indication that the baby is making personal
effort to come out, and you have to assist her at that point".
The
statement from this nurse blew my mind and inspired me. It became my
message that Sunday, and the topic was "don't waste your pain."
Every pain came to your life to achieve something. Every pain is an
indicator of a new season; pain came to release passion into your life.
The Bible talks of the passion of Jesus, which in essence is the pain He
went through.
Every woman in labour pain is about to change level and
season; why? She is about to become a mother. She is about to move from
just being a wife to a mother.
So, your pain is the passage way to your
next level. Jesus wasted no time in His moment of pain because in His
agony He prayed the more earnestly.
He converted the emotions from His
pain to prayer fire. He prayed like never before.
So, instead of
allowing your pain make you complain and breakdown, rather let it drive
you to pray and do other positive things. A man in pain who engages in
prayer is always very passionate in that prayer.
Use your pain for
worship, use it for prayer, use it for service, most especially to
people who are suffering what you are currently going through.
Please note that your pain is an announcement of a new season in your
life. It is the ushering into another level of glory, it is Labour pain
for a new season.
Read the words about Jesus in Luke 24:26; “Ought not
Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?”
Grace to enter your glory in Jesus Name.
Assignment
i. Appreciate God for this word.
ii. Despise your pain and engage prayer right now for your next level in Jesus Name.

-Lord I use my present pain to enter my next level of glory in Jesus Name.

Nugget
Instead of allowing your pain make you complain and breakdown, rather let it drive you to pray and do other positive things.
