Hebrews 10:23 KJV
“Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)”
The one reason why many people will want to hold the promise of anyone
with a pinch of salt may be because of the track record of the person.
Sometimes it may because you do not really know the person like that, so it may be risky to expect that the person will be true to their words.
But such is not the case with God, because God is faithful. In fact, His Name is also "faithful and true", Revelation 19:11.
For many who have really encountered God, one thing will come out of your mouth at the end of each experience; and it is "faithful God", or "God is faithful".
Sarah could not have God's promise delivered to her until she became convinced that God was faithful. The scriptures say that she judged Him faithful who had promised.
Hebrews 11:11. You have to come to the point where you confirm for yourself that God is faithful, no matter what. This understanding settles you, delivers you and ends every argument in your mind.
So, what then is your responsibility here? Our text already told us, and it is holding strong your profession of faith, knowing whom you have believed in.
When God says He will bless you if you serve Him, then hold on strongly to that because He is faithful that promised.
If God said you should sing as an expecting mother who is believing Him for children (Isaiah 54:1), then sing and praise Him knowing that He is faithful.
If God says when you give, it will be given to you good measure, pressed down shaken together and running over, then give, knowing that God is faithful.
If God says when you find a wife you have not just found a good thing but will obtain favour from the Lord; then know that and keep it in your mind as you get married, knowing that God is faithful.
The summary of what I am saying is this, find what God has said about everything and anything, and then hang on to it because He is faithful that promised.
God is faithful, period!
Assignment/Prayer
i. Make searches into the word on five to ten areas of concern in your life and hold on to it no matter what happens.
ii. Begin to thank God for His faithfulness, celebrate His faithfulness and talk about His faithfulness.
