"A man's enemies will be the members of his own household.'' - Mtt. 10:36 NIV
Hon. Orman Esin mans the Ministry of Transport and Petroleum Resources
in AKS.. Part of his responsibilities is that of raising revenue for
government through the revenue points that abound in the state like
motor parks, airport, jetties etc and that are attached to the
Ministry..
Orman happens to be Deacon Udom's second Transport
Commissioner after the Hon. Ntukude who attracted CEMETERY from the
state government to his Local Government Area..
Hon. Ntukude like his
successor Orman Esin, hails from a riverine area also blessed with
coastlines that the AKS government can sell to boost her purportedly
poor revenue status..
It is irreconcilably sad that while Ntukude refused to sell Uruan coastlines to outsiders in the name of raising revenue for the government, Oro's Orman Esin has unconscionably chosen to SELL the almost last resort of the Oro people..
SELLING of Oro's
entire coastline is regrettably and without pretense part of the grand
ploy to completely reduce Oro people to mere tenants in their God-given
ancestral land and that is a height of treachery and mischief that can
come from a member of Oro's household..
This, in addition to the fact
that reasonable part of Ebughu land and other attractive parts of Mbo
has been sold to mostly to those enemies of our progress calls for
serious concern..
I have it on very good authority that Hon. Orman Esin and many other coconspirators have concluded arrangements to sign a Memorandum of Understanding on a shoddy deal to sell Oro people into eternal slavery by selling the entire coastline stretching from Oron Museum all through to Esuk Oro to a so called Core Investor with a dubious antecedents for the construction of Oron Marine Terminal (OMT) on PPP arrangement..
Oro must be aware that on signing the MOU, all
natives residing along the coastline shall compulsorily pay rent to the
surrogate core investor, Mr. Essien Awe..
What slavery could be as
demeaning to a people as that planned by these agents planted to
annihilate Oro?..
The most curious aspect of this gang up against
Oro's ancestral inheritance and above all, its economic survival is the
heartrending fact that the surrogate Core Investor who owns Rock Marine
Services, Mr. Essien Awe is an Ibibio man from Itu LGA..
The question
that readily comes to mind is, if this has nothing to do with buying Oro
off her God-given free access to the sea, why would Mr. Awe leave the
Itu coastline in the guise of investment to shut out Oro people from
their entire coastal area?..
Oro must be wary of this administration's
resolve to completely decimate and emasculate Oro economically besides
its ongoing campaign of political exclusion against Oro..
My source reveals that the shareholding structure in the arrangement is as follows:
Rock Marine Services - 51%
Akwa Ibom State Govt - 15%
Oron Nation - 15%
Others etc. - 19%
Rock Marine Services - 51%
Akwa Ibom State Govt - 15%
Oron Nation - 15%
Others etc. - 19%
My source also confirmed that the surrogate core investor was advised
to present a detailed plan of implementation for the project before
proceeding to sign an MOU with the state government so as to enable the
stakeholders study the plan as to ascertain the sincerity, integrity and
the financial and technical capacity of the proposed core investor to
execute a project of that magnitude before commencement of signing of an
MOU..
Additionally, the MOU was to carry a clause to wit: that the
government can revoke the MOU in the event that the implementation plan
is not followed to the letter..
Whereas the conditions precedent has not
been met by the promoter of the project, Hon. Orman Esin and his
coconspirators are set for MOU signing scheduled for tomorrow Thursday,
4th May, 2017..
Sadly, the Oron Nation, who is a major stakeholder
and in whose territory the project is to be cited has not been briefed
or invited for the MOU signing..
Of grave concern equally is the
proposal by the Ibibio man, Mr. Essien Awe to acquire an incredible 600m
of coastline in a project of this nature which is a gross anomaly and
unheard of in maritime circles..
Examples abound in Lagos, Warri and
Calabar etc. where core investors usually acquire between 50 and 100
metres of coastline for such investment purposes..
CAN ORO AFFORD TO
GIVE AWAY ITS ENTIRE COASTLINE AREA TO INVESTORS OF QUESTIONABLE
ANTECEDENTS?..
To me and other discerning Oro natives, this is a
well-articulated plan by the ENEMIES of Oro to annex Oro's territory
using the authority of the state government, thereby depriving the
owners of their ancestral inheritance..
Note that the Oro coastline is
an ancient landmark that must not be toyed with.. It is also a major hub
of economic activities with hundreds of families deriving their
livelihood from the area..
We would therefore wish to suggest
stopping of the signing of the MOU until Oron nation is properly briefed
on the project and due diligence carried out to ascertain the
sincerity, integrity, capacity of the core investor as well as the
benefits of the project to Oro Nation in particular and Akwa Ibom State
in general..
In this regard, I call on the COTR, ORON UNION, ORON
THINK TANK, ORO YOUTHS, IDUA YOUTHS and the entire Oro people at home
and in the diaspora to ensure Oro's territory is not trickily annexed
again by this government as Late Esuene did to part of Mbo territory
when he was the military administrator of the then Cross River State..
Besides, Hon. Orman Esin must be made to explain to Oro why Oro's entire
coastline is put forward for auction by himself and others he must
disclose to Oro..
He must as well answer why the coastlines in Ibeno,
Ikot Abasi, Uruan, Itu and other places are not equally slated for
auctioning as is the case in Oro..
If Oro refuses to act swiftly and seriously in this matter then, we have a long way to walk!
