The battle for who will represent the All Progressives Congress, APC,
in the state gubernatorial election come 2019 is on-going.
Already the former governorship candidate under the defnct Action
Congress of Nigeria, ACN, Sen. John James Udoedeghe has began his
consultation for governorship ahead of 2019.
In one of the meetings
held in the former campaign office of the gubernatorial aspirant along
Udotung Ubo street, Uyo Udoedeghe revealed that his aspiration to the
hilltop mansion of the state was not negotiable with any other persons
parading themselves as members of the APC in the state.
He said, ‘’I
wonder how and why the same categories of people who fought me in 2011
when I struggled on my own and I succeeded in bringing the ruling party
today at the federal to the state and they were all against me for
indicting an opposition party in the A’Ibom, they were all on the other
side and worked contrary to destroy my ambition, they fought me, called
me different names, alleged against me, destroyed my properties worth
millions of naira, yet today these same set of people are coming to
claim and parading themselves as staunch members of the APC ; where were
they when I fought alone?’’
Sen. James said rather for him to let
go the party for sycophants who pretended they are members of the APC he
will go extra mile to secure the interest of the party so that
pretenders will not come in and kill the image of the party the same way
they did to the former party, adding that he spent millions of naira to
gain the party structure in the state.
Sen. James said he has
challenged all those campaigning for the hilltop mansion seat of the
state under the platform of the All Progressives Congress to come out
to a public debate and tell the people of the state what they have done
before to the party both at the state and National levels.
He said
come 2019 governorship under the APC that the Party will not have room
for the inferior politicians who are seeking for already built places
to destroy.
Senator Udoedeghe alleged that the NDDC Managing Director Mr. Nsima Ekere have recruited some thugs to fight him but that he was poised to defeat him and the sitting governor come 2019
