A hi-tech agricultural firm, Shandong Wuzgen Group, has arrived Akwa Ibom Akwa Ibom State
in readiness to invest in the agricultural sector of the economy and
boost the food sufficiency programme of the present administration.

Inyang, dropped the hint during his interaction with Government House
Correspondents, shortly after a meeting with Directors of the firm and Governor Udom Emmanuel, at Government House, Uyo.
He said that the arrival of the investors have lend credence to the administration’s commitment to reinvigorate the state agricultural sector through mechanised farming and ensure availability and affordability of food items for the consuming public.
The leader of the Shandong Wuzgen Group Mr Xiwen, who expressed delight at the investment opportunities available in the state, listed areas of intended collaboration to include large scale cassava, maize and cashew nut cultivation.
His Words : , "Shandong Group is basically a large scale Agricultural Manufacturing Group. We are targeting Akwa Ibom as the gateway to commercial farming in Nigeria and we' ve come to confer with the Governor and seek his support to enable us partner in agricultural production. "
Speaking further, Mr Xiwen said : "our company also engage in manufacturing haulage vehicles from 5 to 30 tons , tricycles, ambulances, storage facilities and recyclying of waste for industrial and agricultural use", adding that several outgrowers are available to buy the farm produce for export and consumption.
Also, the Business Consultant to the Group Mr Abdulraman Abdukari, said that the International Community is aware of the investment potential of Akwa Ibom state and expressed optimism that with the teeming investors comming into the state to carry out business, Akwa Ibom would be transformed to an industrial hub.
Mr Abdukari explained that the degree of partnership would be more symbiotic as the state government would provide the land and manpower while Shandong Group would provide the technology and market for the produce.
He expressed appreciation to Governor Udom Emmanuel for taking steps to expose the rich resources available in the state to the global community, stressing that the strategy has attracted investors to the State.
