The press release by the All Progressive Congress Akwa Ibom State
alleging a plot of fake defection by the PDP is as laughable as it is
mischievous, exposing the infantile mindset of the both the party and
the author.
It is a trite fact that people see things from their
world view and nothing more pretentious i.e a conman cannot trust
another person as he thinks everyone is a fraud like him.
The world has
witnessed and understood the comical series titled defection in akwa
ibom PDP, shamelessly scripted and unintelligently acted by the APC, but
watched with utter contempt by the society.
The fact remains that it is
the APC that needs to show their strength by arranging
defections,because they are featherweight on the ground.
How else could
they have deceived themselves than when they put out stories showing PDP
defectors and they brought forth a cousin of their Governorship
candidate who had left the party when the failure of his cousin's
gubernatorial bid was manifest? And they brought up the news last week
as a case of defection. It's most laughable.
We can assure them that we
are a breed apart, hence cannot delve into what is dubious and shameful.
The massive defection of those who were deceived by the APC in Nsit
Ubium was an event waiting to happen.
Or have they forgotten that even
with a governorship candidate there, they not win and can still not win
any elections in that local government area? If what happened in Nsit
Ubium last week, was a shock to them, then we sincerely pity them as
they will soon realise that they will be walking alone.
Their
party leadership may be the only people who are yet to come to terms
with the groundswell of discontent and contempt with which reasonable
Nigerians view their party. May I remind them that nobody can deceive
all the people all the time.
When the lies and fake promises made by
your party clears and the people seek to return to their home of truth
and bliss,please don't whine and cry,reality has set in.
Surprisingly I was thinking that the party would have been more
concerned in the recent financial misadventure that a leading 'spoilt
child' of their party undertook which is threatening to make him
homeless in uyo,considering that the Bible posits that he who is
diligent in little shall be diligent in plenty.
How can a man who
refuses or neglects to pay back a paltry 27 million naira be entrusted
with the public purse? So if people now begin to rationalise that the
same man who is promising to give them huge contracts is unable to pay
his debt and they choose to return to where truth and sincerity
abound,why should you abuse them? Please prepare for the harvest of
defections- you can't miss it!
Finally, let me commend the
'publicity secretary' of the APC who promised to learn on the job for
learning fast and adhering to my advice of issuing signed or verifable
releases( don't you feel better now that you are doing the right
thing?).
This is a standard release not using questionable channels but
there query is, before now you were quoted to have signed as Publicity
Secretary but now you are singing as acting why?( I hope you are not on
probation).
I urge the public to discountenance the mischievous
press release by the APC calling to mind their very rich historical
scare crow antecedence-they cannot change eventhough they mouth it.
Our great Party the Peoples Democratic Party will continue to espouse
the highest qualities of democratic norms, conscious that true
development can only emerge from sincere and honest political
disposition.
