Eman Ahmed, the Egyptian woman who came

Eman
came down to Mumbai in February weighing of 490 kg, having been bound
to her bed for 20 years because of her obesity.
After losing around

laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy.
The surgery had around 75 per
cent of her stomach removed to limit her food intake, after which her
weight dropped to 340 kg by the end of March.
Dr Lakdawala said
that Eman lost an additional weight of 98 kg in just 13 days, which left
her doctors surprised as they had expected her to lose around 150 kg in

Given to her weight loss, Eman's vital organs
and overall health is doing better than ever before, although she
continues to be bedridden and paralysed on the right side.
