I get highly amazed at the unnecessary and unwarranted controversy surrounding the Uwak-Ekpeyong imbroglio and the attended tribal coloration.

I have since avoided in joining in this controversy which I consider uncalled for and waste of time, energy and air time bundle; but as a recurrent decimal , they keep visiting my page as if to ask me "speakout".

The two "Honourables" are well known to me directly or tangentially from their rooots and are/or were eminently qualified constitutionally to represent me in the green chamber.

Ekpeyong got known by me through his late father who was a popular Oron transporter and whose commercial vehicle we used to board to Lagos; again, the eldest brother ,now late, was a friend and classmate.

Whereas Uwak's father an Accountant by profession was a friend to my father and their are both late; he used to visit my clinic for medical attention each time that he was in Abuja for business with the Cooperate Affairs Commission.

I have taken time on this " unnecessary linkages" to buttress my position of non- alliance on this vexatious issue.

The matter at hand is purely a case bordering on morality and legality and therefore any deviation from this part of "honour" is being economical with the truth.

Anyone for that matter that aspires to represent me in the House at any level should be above board, period. The likes of Esio, Peter Linus etc and all as outlined above were there with no tinct.

After all the constitution demands for a minimum grade of School Certificate(WASC) to qualify for election as a Federal Representative.

If one should lay any "false claim" to what is not required under oat that is simply PERJURY; he should bear and dance the music and to borrow the language of a onetime Prefect of mine in the lower college: "it's his funeral and burial, he has his obituary to write and no one is going to bear signatory".

It's commonly said Ceasear's wife should be above board. If Ekpeyong faces the law of the land and hopefully comes out clean and free, we all will rejoice and clink the glasses. If he's sent to the gallows after due procedures, so be it.

It reminds me of a former representative from Okigwe during OBJ's era who was on trial on "419" matter who died in the course and left to be mourned by the probable beneficiaries, his family and kindred. Why should we want to "defend" crime and criminality on the alter of Clan and Tribe.
Let we all stand for truth even if you are standing alone.
