Nsit Ubium PDP Stakeholders Pass Vote Of Confidence on Governor Udom Emmanuel, Onofiok Luke

A COMMUNIQUÉ ISSUED AT A SPECIAL MEETING OF NSIT UBIUM PDP STAKEHOLDERS HELD ON 2ND APRIL, 2017

Ahead of the 2019 second term re-election of Governor Udom Emmanuel, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholders, elders, women, units and youth leaders, across the ten (10) wards from Nsit Ubium local government area converged in Uyo at the weekend threw their weight behind Governor Udom Emmanuel, as their governorship candidate for the 2019 governorship election.


The meeting was well attended by a cross section of leaders including present and past political office holders, elders, women units and youth leaders, across the ten (10) wards that make up Nsit Ubium local government area, witnessed a vote of confidence passed on the governor’s administration.

The meeting was convinced by Elder Aniefiok Johnny, the Chapter Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party- PDP, Nsit Ubium Chapter had communiqué issued at the end of the meeting with the following resolutions:-

1. That Nsit Ubium PDP commended His Excellency, Deacon Udom Emmanuel on his achievements since assumption of office so far initiated and even completed many laudable projects and sustained a high momentum in governance, even in this difficult economic period.

2. That Nsit Ubium PDP has seen that His Excellency, Deacon Udom Emmanuel is passionately about his five-point agenda of Job Creation, Poverty Alleviation, Wealth Creation, Economic & Political Inclusion, Infrastructural Consolidation and Expansion.

3. We have seen that even with the paucity of funds His Excellency continue embarking on contract awarding every day and prompt payment of salaries to Akwa Ibom workers up to date

4. We, the stakeholders, elders, women, units and youth leaders, across the ten (10) wards hereby throw our credence behind His Excellency, Deacon Udom Emmanuel, for a second term in office, as the best governor in Nigeria recently honoured by Vanguard Newspaper, it is quite proper that he be encouraged to run for another term come 2019

5. We commended the governor for appointing two indigenous of Nsit Ubium as permanent secretaries, Mrs Jessy Ekpo, Civil Service Commission and Mr Nse Edem, Political Affairs, that attest to us that His Excellency once again demonstrated his humaneness, love and care for the people of Nsit Ubium

6. We the stakeholders specifically thank His Excellency, the governor for awarding the contract for the dualization and construction of Nung Obong/ Mbio Ekene bridge which work will soon commence

7. We the stakeholders, elders, women, units and youth leaders, across the ten (10) wards hereby pass a Vote of Confidence on the speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt Hon (Barr) Onofiok Luke, we are giving him unreservedly support as our Golden Son for him to succeed in his service to humanity.

8. We also resolved to support the administration of the Transition Committee Chairman of Nsit Ubium local government area, Hon Otobong Edemidiong, as a young man with good capacity to stir the affairs of the council

“I, His Excellency, Amb Sam Edem, having examined the reasons Nsit Ubium local government area should continue giving their unflinching support to His Excellency, Deacon Udom Emmanuel, onbehalf of the stakeholders, elders, women, units and youth leaders in the ten wards, I hereby move motion for the adoption of His Excellency, Deacon Udom Emmanuel as the sole candidate in 2019 governorship election. I, Barr Victor Bob seconded the motion”.
