No New Contract For Wenger To Remain Arsenal Manager Beyond The Current Campaign - Arsenal Board

According to a recent report, there is no new contract for Arsène Wenger to remain Arsenal manager beyond the current campaign.

After the Gunners’ 3-0 defeat to Crystal Palace on Monday evening, supporters’ frustrations continued to intensify. They’ve now only lost three consecutive away league fixtures – conceding nine in the process.

Arsenal Supporters’ Trust have publicly announced the fact that the club is yet to put a two-year extension deal for Wenger to sign, despite previous rumours suggesting otherwise.

Some fans were understandably sceptical, hinting that the club were purposely keeping quiet because they’d already completed an extension prior to a significant drop in form of late. However, it’s against stock market rules not to announce new changes.

Wenger has remained adamant he is the right man throughout the campaign, despite continuously being asked to clarify his future and whether he’d remain at Arsenal beyond the season’s completion next month.

Given the fact he’s been in charge for 20 years, it’s unlikely that Arsenal will dismiss him between now and the remainder of the season. After all, his contract runs out at the end of June, meaning any new managerial arrival could be arranged once the season finishes.

The AST’s recent survey showed a whopping 78% of members felt Wenger shouldn’t be offered another contract extension. It’ll be interesting to see how this develops.
