In order to compliment the free and compulsory education of the state government, the Speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Onofiok Luke has announced the purchase of jamb form for 150 students from Nsit Ubium LGA.
Hon. Luke who was at his constituency office at Ikot-Edibon to address the beneficiaries, said the gesture was part of his commitment towards giving the future leaders of the state and country opportunity to actualize their dream of becoming great leaders.
He noted that the best form of empowerment for the youth who are leaders of tomorrow is to educate them.
"The best and lasting form of empowerment is educational empowerment"
He used the opportunity to thanked the people of Nsit Ubium for giving him their mandate to represent them in the State House of Assembly since 2011 and promised not to disappoint them.
"My commitment is to make sure i better the lot of the people whom i represent, and in this case the people of Nsit Ubium State constituency.
"My commitment is to make your lives better based on the available resources, based on the strength, based on the power, based on the mandate that God through you has give to me, and i will not shirk from that responsibility.
"I don't find rest in my soul, in my spirit when i discover that there are some segment of the people we must touch".
The Speaker hinted that he was in talks with the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to see to the digitalization of the constituency office in order to make it a resource centre.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Master Victor UduakIdem thanked the Speaker for purchasing the form for them and promised to justify the huge investment and love showered on them.
He prayed for God's protection for the Speaker and his family.
