Matthew 25:34-40 KJV
“Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
Then
shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord,
when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee
drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and
clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto
thee?
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto
you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my
brethren, ye have done it unto me.”
Our God is a God of social justice. One of the most important things in the mind of God is how to take care of the less privileged and the needy in society; whether they are born again or not, whether they go to church or not.
God created everyone and He is a responsible God who needs everyone to fare well.
This explains why He makes the rain to fall on the godly and the ungodly; (Matthew 5:45).
God wants everyone He created to fare well, and ‘chiefest’ on his mind are the very poor. What is referred to as "the least of these".
Catering for the poor is too crucial to God, which is why the book of proverbs explains that giving to the poor is lending to the Lord, and that He would pay back any monies or resources spent. (Proverbs 19:17).
And we all know that God owes no man. God can never be indebted to anyone. He would rather pay you exceeding, abundantly above all you can ask or think. God will out-give you any time any day.
So, giving to the poor and the needy is one of the best ways to give to God. When you give to those who cannot pay you back, then you have given to the Lord.
Each time you give to the helpless, you just assisted God to fulfill one of the most pressing visions of His heart. Giving to the poor is partnering with God to bring peace and prosperity to this world.
God is looking for willing vessels that He can make a blessing to the world. You should be able to say like Isaiah " here am I, send me". God has to send resources through someone; may you be such a person in Jesus Name.
