You ever looked at it as investment from the organizers point of view?
It's easy to just conclude on how much they're making(even though the 11
million votes includes those who voted on wechat, which is free), have
you thought of how much money they invested?
Any idea how much it cost to air a 5minutes broadcast on local TV stations, let alone broadcast on a dedicated cable channel for 3 whole months?I'm a travel agent and I can as a matter of fact tell you that return flight tickets to SA as at the time they traveled was no less than 350,000(for economy class), multiply that by 16 housemates that traveled for the game show, how much does that come to?
They have guest artists and celebrity flown to SA every other weekend, both as performing acts and house guest, some of which include the A-list
entertainers like Banky W, Omotola, Ice Prince,
Don Jazzy(with 2 of his record label artists) Mr Ibu and Simi to mention a few, any idea how much they pay these guys? Their hotel costs? Flight tickets?
Davido was in the studio to perform at the live eviction show just yesterday, you have any idea how much it cost to get O.B.O on the stage? What about the house itself? You know how many HD cameras and sound equipments installed in that house, do you know how much those stuffs cost? I can categorically tell you that THEY COST A LOT!
All that being said, what about the housemate welfare? Ever tried feeding a grown ass adult for just 24 hours? Let alone feeding 16 grown folks for 3 months? (and those guys eat like newly freed prisoners).
What about the clubbing events every other weekend? Celebrity DJ here and there, do they receive stones for their efforts? I think not.
6 family and friends of the standing housemates were flown to SA recently, I dare to say the organizers are the ones picking the bills, including visa fees, accommodation, flight tickets and even their clothings.
We all like to jump on a bandwagon and criticize issues from one blind perspective, but what if we
consider the motives of the ones involved? Yes, the game show makes no sense, but take it or leave it, they're making celebrities out of those guys, won't you agree that's what so many youths of today strive for?
Don't just conclude they're raking in a lopsided
N330,000,000, have you thought of their investment and the risk they're taking? If you are an entrepreneur taking all this risk, wouldn't you expect a return on your investment? Besides, this is a business idea birthed by a group smart, like minded folks, not Nigerian oil money so I see no reason why anyone should beef.
Not a big fan of BBN either, just a guy who choose to look at the whole thing from business perspective..
