“That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.”
The lack of faith has made many believers to lose out in the promises
and blessings of God in ways that cannot be imagined.
Many have died due to the lack of faith to access the things that God has freely given to them, such as healing.
The reason is that faith is the only way to take delivery of our blessings from God. Faith is our spiritual currency with which we make purchases from the realm of the spirit.
So, just as without money it is impossible to impress any seller, so also without faith it is impossible to please God.
But faith alone will not do the job. Faith does not work alone, it is patience that makes faith work.
You can have all the faith in the world, yet if you lack patience your results will be aborted.
Many people release their faith for certain things in their lives but never wait to see the outcome due to impatience.
Hear what James says about God: “Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.” James 5:7 KJV. Take note of the "B" part of that scripture; he has long patience for it.
So, after sowing your seeds or making any kind of input into anything, you have to employ and deploy the weapon of patience in order to see your harvest. Your lack of patience could result in a miscarriage of your blessing, what you may call an abortion.
It is the same as going to dig up a seed to know what is going on in the ground. That action will kill your harvest on the spot.
Jesus said "when the son of man comes, will He find faith on the earth?” (Luke 18:8). That faith is called "persistent faith". That is why our text says we should follow those who through faith and patience obtained the promise.
Receive faith and patience in Jesus Name.
Assignment
i. Faith comes by hearing the word of God over and over again. Engage the reading and hearing of the word of God as a habitual practice from today.
ii. Ask God for the spirit of patience and grace to wait till your change comes.
Prayer
-Lord I receive the grace to wait for you in Jesus Name.
-Father please baptize me with the spirit of patience in Jesus Name.
