Dear esteemed members of the Pen profession, it is with a great sense of joy and excitement that I decided to share some thoughts with you especially as we mourn the dead and celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Moments like these are very fundamental in our lives especially as we aspire to build our state in line with the dreams and visions of our dear Governor, His Excellency, Deacon Udom Emmanuel, whose ultimate and primary desire is to have a state and people united in all ramifications and upholding tenet of God.

God has proven at all times that His love for us as a people is unwavering not minding our shortcomings, and this explains why despite all we have gone through especially during electioneering period, His love kept us together and united.

What would have naturally snowball into chaos and rancor in other society, we make caricature of it and move on. This is the nature of Christ.

Like our governor has always said, we are a people cut out from God to fulfill His purpose on earth, his near two years of stewardship in our dear state as our leader has truly defined our direction and set us on course for a greater future.

It is therefore pertinent for us to key into the vision of our leader and governor, as part of our cooperate responsibility to promote and project the lofty development brought to our dear state by the vision of Udom Emmanuel.

The governor has always stated unequivocally that he welcome criticism and as a leader, you perform better when criticized by your people.

However, his call for criticism should definitely not be misconstrued and substituted for insult and blackmail.

We should show respect for our dear governor, as it pleased God to send him to us at a time like this where direction towards leadership is mostly needed for our state.

The Journalism profession is a highly revered profession anywhere in the world, and we are seen as nation builders and not destroyers.

As members of the Fourth Estate of the realm, we are expected to be the light that shines through the darkest part of our society and therefore the society depends on us for direction.

When we deceive the people and they lost confidence in us and our profession, where lies the hope of the common man in the society.

Let us therefore uphold the sanctity of our noble profession by presenting to the public what is true and factual.

The government of Udom Emmanuel has live up to her campaign promises of playing an open door government and policy.

The naked reality is even visible to the blind. The governor has shown commitment to the course of the media practitioners in the state and we can all attest to this eloquently.

Let us appreciate him for his sincere position and commitment to our collective growth by providing an enabling environment for us to explore. Let appreciate him for the ones he has done so far, as appreciation is an application for more.

It is my sincere belief that this government which has shown sincerity and direction in his dealings with Akwa Ibomites, will not disappoint the people going forward, especially as the governor is aware that this is the time we really need the government most as a people.

Once again, I call on all media stakeholders in the state to come together in building the Akwa Ibom of our dream which is ably steered by His Excellency, Deacon Udom Emmanuel.
Together we shall succeed!
