An
Abuja based publisher and a former Chairman of Urue Offong/Oruko LGA of
Akwa Ibom State, Chief Edet Isong, has described the federal
government's whistle blower policy as commendable, saying the successes
so far recorded since the introduction of the policy in the right
against corruption is unparalleled.
Speaking to newsmen in Uyo, Chief Isong commend President Mahammadu Buhari over the suspension of the Secretary to
the Government of the Federation, (SGF) Engr Babuchi Lawal and the
Director- General of the NIA, Ambassador Oke, on allegation of
corruption, submitting that the actions of the President has gone a long
way to restoring the peoples confidence in the administration's fight
against corruption as well as shows that no one is above the law in line
with the rule of law.
He berated the former Minister of Aviation, Fani Kayode for accusing Minister of Transport, Mr Rotimi Amaechi as owner of the N13billion uncovered at Osborne Towers, Ikoyi and called on the former Rivers State Governor to take legal actions against his accusers.
He called on Kayode to apologize to Rotimi Amaechi over the false accusation.
"If the CBN releases the said money to NIA what is Amaechi's business? Was Amaechi working with Former NSA Dasuki or the CBN? Nigerian should be grateful to Amaechi because Nigeria would have collapsed by now with the level of stealing that was going on during the last administration", he declared.
He appeal to the Senate to confirm the EFCC acting Chairman, Mr Ibrahim Magu as substantive Chairman of the anti-corruption agency, describing the success achieved by Magu over the past few months as outstanding and unprecedented.
