
A delegation of traders paid a courtesy visit to the Special Adviser to the Governor on Bureau of Cooperative and Rural development in her office.

The team which was led by the president of all the
traders in the state, who happens to also be the pioneer Special
Assistant to the Governor on traders matters, Akparawa Idorenyin Raphael said thier aim of visit was to familiarise themselves with the ministry.
In a welcome address presented by the director of programmes in the ministry, Mr Jonah welcomed the traders for recognising the ministry which has a big part to play in thier trading sector.
Addressing the gathering, Akparawa Raphael introduced those on his team and congratulated Mrs. Ekemini Umoh on her appiontment as a Special Adviser to the Governor.
He stated the reason for thier visit is to partner with the ministry and transform the trading sector, adding that during the Governor's campaign in 2015, He promised them a bus, interest free loan and appionting some one to represent the traders in his cabinet which he has fullfiled all of them in barely two years in office and has still promised to do more.
Akparawa Raphael informed the ministry that before now traders use to come out in different groups,but the Governor being a visionary leader had earlier informed them to group themselves into one body in other to be synergy in all they do, which in obedience to that instruction, traders in the state has now form themselves
In to one body named "Akwa Ibom traders Cooperative Association" which has been registered with the ministry and the inaugural ceremony is less than a month from now.
He thanked the Special adviser for adopting them into the ministry and promised to work with her in harmony.
Responding to the speeches Mrs Ekemini Umoh thanked the traders for honouring the ministry which has made her proud, knowing that she has a large number of traders which is approximately one million eight hundred thousand traders in the state to work with.
Mrs Ekemini also Informed the traders that a file has been opened in her office for traders and any trader who has issue can always visit her office at any point In time.
She noted that the next Rural development will be for the traders in the rural areas in the state.
At the peak of visit a motion was moved by the president of all the traders, Akparawa Raphael to support Governor Udom Emmanuel come 2019 elections and was seconded by the BOT chairman of all traders in the state, Mr Christopher Usoro which all the traders was in support......
