Immediate past Honourable Commissioner for Housing and Urban Renewal, Prince Enobong Uwah has expressed the gratitude of the people of Uyo Local government to Governor Udom Emmanuel for the ongoing construction of Several roads criss crossing Atan Offot community.
In a telephone chat, Prince Uwah who also lauded the hard work of the Honourable Commissioner for Works, Akwa Ibom State, Mr Ephraim Inyangeyen, maintained that Governor Emmanuel has kept faith with the people who gave him the mandate by keeping his campaign promises.
Prince Uwah who also
acknowledged the effort of government to deflood Nsikak Eduok \Oron
road, made the call on the heels of the inspection exercise conducted by
Commissioner Inyangeyen who led news men around the many roads under
construction around the state.
The projects inspected by commissioner inyangeyen include the
6.1kilometer Atan Offot roads handled by Nigerturks Civil Technologies
limited entering the last lap of completion and the Nsikak Eduok -Oron
road outfall Drain constructed by Julius Berger through Udo Udoma to
Obot Idim Ibesikpo to deflood the Area in Uyo Local Government.
Other projects inspected are, the 6.0kilomwter Idiaba -Nda Nsit -Ikot
Abasi (Nung Udoe) road in Nsit Atai local government Area handled by
Cossel construction company Nigeria limited, the dualization of the
13.5 kilometers Okopedi -Oron road stretching to the East -West Road
phase 2 by CCEC Nigeria limited cutting across the three local
government areas of Nsit Atai, Okobo and Oron, as well as the Oron
road stretch to the Oron beach with World class drains in Oron local
government handled by WE construction Nigeria limited.
At Oron, Mr inyangeyen stated that Governor udom Emmanuel is developing the long neglected Oro Nation and remains committed to doing more to salvage the infrastructural decay in the area and all parts of the state.
Commissioner Inyangeyen who assured the people that the perennial flooding of Nsikak Eduok is now a thing of the past also pledged that, the state government will eventually intervene in the more complex flooding challenge at IBB Avenue close to the state secretariat.
