It is true that there are men in the annals of our history who have etched their names in the sands of time, and they will be men in all times.

Noteworthily, among the few in our contemporary, is Mr Enobong Uwah, a star and beacon of hope in the galaxy of men.

It is now a proven fact in a new order that a true politician is someone that changes not from playing politics with ethic; candour and in generosity even in meager or in mega; in power or out of power.

This is what Prince Enobong Uwah, the indisputable champion of Uyo political delineation represents.

When he was in Office as Honourable Commissioner in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Renewal, his house was the centre of convergence for all and sundry to discuss matters of Uyo people.

One was thinking that it was so because he was holding the sceptre of power as a commissioner.

Today, to the chagrin of numerous folks, his dwelling home is perhaps, converted to "Uyo Village Square", because of his tenacity and shrewd ability of carrying people along in the business of the day.

I have watched with absolute concentration and I am yet to see a man of Uwah's calibre whose humility radiates like the sun at dawn.

Irrespective of your class and status in life; Uwah will treat you the same and accord you the valued measure and dignity on the table of life.

He does not believe that some should be fed on the table, while others should eat crumbs. It is unusual to have a man do so much, like Uwah has done, and still works around with compelling humility without blowing his trumpet.

I have seen how the peoples' champion (Uwah) touched peoples' lives and things changed for the better.

A man who championed a strong campaign in his deeds and conduct in an attempt to eradicate poverty and hunger in Uyo by empowering the young and old.

Record has it that he has added value to some lives with free gifts of over 100 brand new cars, to Uyo indigenes.

For some doubting Thomases, you may confirm from some selected beneficiaries as follows: Ekpedeme Jonah; Eteobong Justin; Joseph Ita; Eyo (Tito); Uwem Etem (cabal); former PDP woman Uyo chapter leader, Mrs. Nse, Arch.

Essien Nkanga, Mrs. Chris Etim, Idongesit Alfred, Osundu Ahirika and many others. In the advancement of education attainment in Uyo indigene, our champion has given gently and full Scholarship to many students to study at home and abroad.

Courtesy of him, Ekpedeme Ekpotu is doing a Master's Degree Program in London, Edidiong Offiong is in Northern Cyprus (Turkey), Ubong Topha and over 15 other beneficiaries are studying oversee and an estimate of about 80 others in Nigerian higher institutions.

One of the agenda of the Millennium development goals is to promote gender equality and woman empowerment. Uwah has keyed into this agenda by empowering more than 200 women between the range of N100,000 (One Hundred Thousand Naira) to N1000,000 (One Million Naira).

This cuts across Rostrum women, Nka Iban Uyo; Ward Women Groups and other groups in various villages.

Hon. Enobong Uwah loves his cultural and traditional orientation. During his tenure in office, he accorded Traditional Chiefs, their dues according customary ethics.

The workforce of the nation which is the Youths is one aspect he has given deserved priority attention.

It is on record that over 2,000 Youths have benefitted from Prince Uwah through employment during his superintendent in office as National Deputy Chairman Nigerian Youths Council; Chairman Akwa Ibom State Youth Council; Special Assistant to Governor Akpabio on Protocol; SSA to Governor on Akwa Ibom Liason Office, Abuja; Honourable Commissioner for Environment; Honourable Commissioner for Housing and Urban Renewal, etcetera.

He is not just bestowed with the unique name of Uyo-Champion, he is called so because he has sincerely committed to the campaign of turning boys to men.

Chief (Dr.) Godswill Akpabio could not have appointed him Commissioner for Environment and Mineral Resources if he had not seen the unanimous sentiments of Uyo people toward Enobong Uwah's contribution to ameliorate perplexing environmental problems in Akwa Ibom State.

He is a man of dignity and integrity, absolute superlative high standards and boundless enthusiasm for whatever he is committed to undertake.

He is an asset to the State and possesses an amazing capacity and passion for excellence.

Uwah's peaceable and serene disposition has made him a rallying point for great and development conscience minds.

This splendid man hold the title of Iberedem Uyo; Obong Unwana Atan Offot amongst others.

It is now visible to the blind and audible to the deaf that no public officer in Uyo, political office holder in elective or appointive capacity has empowered more of his people than Prince Uwah. Even out of office, he remains constant in his virtues of Championing the minority's course.

A man even when he failed election, he gathered the good people of Uyo to thank them for the support they gave him during the electioneering process.

At Autopark premises beside Champion Breweries Aka Nung Udoe where the 'Thank you' rally was held, he publicly congratulated his opponent and thanked the people.

This is not African way of politics and was the first solidarity of Sportsmanship demonstrated by someone that lost an election.
