As
Christians all over the world today mark the resurrection of the Lord
and Saviour, Jesus Christ, my family and I bring to you warm greetings
and our well wishes on this resurrection morning.
We pray that you
continually live the life of victory and love which God has ordained for
us as Christians through the sacrificial death and the glorious
resurrection of the His Son.
Perhaps one of the most important benefits of the resurrection
of our Saviour is the establishment of the ultimate victory of
Christianity over all its enemies. And because Christ rose, we have
risen and we have become victorious over all adversaries (Rev 12:11).
It
therefore behoves us as Christians to live out this victory through
sowing love in our hearts and showing love to humanity.
We must show
love through giving to the needy; through lifting the lowly; through
giving warmth to the cold; through mourning with those who mourn and
celebrating genuinely with those who celebrate; through supporting the
building of just and peaceful societies; and through praying and making
constant spiritual intercessions for our leaders as the Apostle Paul
commands in 1st Timothy 2:1-3.
The Easter season is one which calls for a
reflection on the seeds which we have sown in our lives, in the lives
of our neighbours and in the lives of the larger society in which we
live.
Our resolve as a
family as we mark this year’s Easter, is to love more as Christ
commanded us; to reach out some more with the little that we have; to
inspire more young people to greatness; to commit more time to the
actualization of the Akwa Ibom dream through interceding for our
leaders; and to contribute to peace-building in our immediate community
and Akwa Ibom state at large through our works, our words, and our
prayers.
I urge you, my dear friends, to make similar and even greater resolutions as God has laid in your hearts to make.
From all of us – Uwakmfonabasi, Uduakobong, Enoabasi, Etiusungisang, Uduak, and Onofiok Luke – this is wishing you an Easter of Victory and Love!
