Following the endless leadership crisis that is currently rocking the Akwa Ibom State chapter of the opposition party, the continuos loss of members by APC to PDP is another revelation by the decampees that APC in the state is in a state of coma, and may likely collapse before the 2019 general elections.
Recently, members of the APC in Nsit Ubium, Ibesikpo Asutan and Uyo have decamped to the ruling PDP, due to the many alleged dubious and fraudulent activities of the party, which will not go down well with members of the opposition party.
One of the reasons, according the decampees is that, the party and the APC appointees at the federal level have abandoned its members after the 2015 general elections, adding that the party has allegedly duped, deceived and collected money from many members to secure for them empowerment packages from the Federal Government, which some members have complained they have not seen till date.
It is also learnt that, lingering crisis in the APC, which paved way for the creation of more factions in the party by its leaders and stakeholders, is another clear sign that will make the party members keep running to PDP since they have not been treated well in their former party, the APC.
Narrating and recalling their ordeals in the hands of APC, the decampees at various occasions, disclosed that the chances of APC winning any future elections in Akwa Ibom State were slim, adding that the APC appointees at the federal level have lost their relevance in polity.
The decampees also accused the APC leaders in the state of betraying the trust reposed on them by the people, pointing out that lack of regular interaction at the grassroots by the party is one of their major aggrievances that cause them to defect from the opposition party APC to the ruling party (PDP) in the state.

the party into many factions because of selfish interests, the decampees
alleged a feeling of insecurity as the face-off by the party
leadership, stakeholders and elders of APC have denied them of access to
expected benefits from the party for almost two years now since APC
assumed rulership at the centre.
