Today's plenary session was quite interesting as Honourable Members spoke against a motion brought by Honourable Member Representing Nsit Atai State Constituency, Hon. Mark Esset.

The lead Speaker against the motion, Hon Samuel Ufuo said it is the responsibility of NAFDAC to look into any unwholesome food that is produced.

He warned the House not to interfere in the specified duty of agencies saddled with responsibility of checking what the people consume.

He charged his colleagues to rise against the motion in its totality since nobody from the public has filed in a petition as to complain the production of bread in Akwa Ibom State.

Honourable Members who spoke against the motion called on the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Barr. Onofiok Luke to expunge the motion from the order paper as the motion is written in a language that is conflicting with the prayer of Hon. Mark Esset. They maintained that Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly is not "A Father Christmas".

Finally, a motion was moved by Honourable Member Representing Nsit Ibom State Constituency, Hon. Mrs Mfon Ekong and was seconded by the Aristotle of the House, Hon. Samuel Ufuo.

Accordingly, a motion on illicit production of bread in Akwa Ibom State moved by Honourable Member Representing Nsit Atai State Constituency, Hon. Mark Esset was withdrawn from the order paper.
