At this point, one needs to see beyond wanton politicking and party affiliation in other to obtain the desired results.

I am a bonafide son of Udung Osung Udo in Eyotai – Udung Uko LGA. I always want the best for my local government area. But it is rather unfortunate and disheartening that in Akwa Ibom State, my local government is one of (if not) the poorest in terms of infrastructure, man power and general development. It has remained how it was after years of successive governments.

Its natural resources and blessed topography have been left underutilized
I won’t be mincing words at all when I say that our land is blessed beyond measure but our problem has always been leadership.

This is far beyond insinuations and blame casting on political parties as it is not about PDP or APC, but about the innocent Udung Uko citizens and their seemingly blurred future.

The future seem blurred because some of the ‘leaders’ we had in the past came as compensation for failed political aspiration while others came as watch dogs and paid servants.

We must all rise to the consciousness that Udung Uko needs to elevate so as to measure up with the 21st century standard.

We must be the ones to rescue the future not just for ourselves but also for our children and posterity in general. We can rewrite our somewhat distorted prospect by the choices we will make before, during and after the election (if there will be any).

We need not take the coming local government election as a usual business where we allow political party attachment, family relationship, all round sentiments and other prejudices to becloud our senses of reasoning thereby throwing open our future to possible bleakness.

We need an exposed, witty and cerebral leader who understands our plight and will be ready to reshape the future of our beloved Udung Uko LGA for this present and future generation.
We need a capable hand.

Let us not solely depend on hope and luck. While praying, we must also engage ourselves in scooping out the water from our sinking boat.

God bless Udung Uko.
