The leadership of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly has descended badly on Governor Udom Emmanuel's appointees.

The Speaker House of , Rt. Hon. ( Barr) Onofiok Luke stated this before Governor Udom Emmanuel in Ini
Local Government Area during the thanksgiving and constituency briefing of the chief Whip of the 6th Assembly, Hon. Emmanuel Ekpenyong.

Accordingly, Speaker Luke who was visibly furious against the governor's appointees, urged those who have internal issues with any house of assembly member should come back and resolve their internal issues and stop blackmailing members of the House of Assembly to the Governor and the entire State.

The speaker emphasized that it is only elected people that can go back to the grassroot to empower his people not the appointees.

"How many appointees has done this in his/her constituency? It is only elected people that are going back to the grassroot and the chairmen of local government can do what you are seeing today, so Appointees should stop blackmailing members of the House of Assembly ".

However, the House pledged their support to His Excellency, Deacon Udom Emmanuel to deliver dividends of democracy to Akwa Ibom people stressing that no amount of blackmail can stop them.

" We are for you and we will support you and stand by you to deliver dividends of democracy to Akwa Ibom people and that we have to say here under God and before the clergymen. We have a covenant with the Governor ". he said.
