Following
the agitation by a cross section of Akwa Ibomites, for The former
speaker Hon. Aniekan Uko be reinstated as the speaker of the sixth
Assembly, members of the House today during plenary reaffirmed their
unalloyed support and commitment to the leadership of Rt. Hon. Onofiok
Luke.
This came as a result of Information brought before the house by the member representing Itu state Constituency, Prince Idongesit ituen, urging the Honourable house to pass a vote of confidence on the present speaker in order to end the lingering speculations that hon. Uko will come back as a speaker.
The motion for the Information to be receive by the house was moved by the member representing Ibiono Ibom State Constituency, Rt. Hon Barr. Ime Okon and was seconded by Hon Uduak Ududoh, member representing Ikot Abasi /Eastern Obolo state Constituency.
The matter was received by the house for deliberations. Hon. Barr.Ime Okon, Hon.Asuguo Achibong, Hon Ntuen, Hon Uduak Ududoh along side other members spoke in support of the Information.
