Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, the chairman of
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Wednesday, February 22, begged PDP
governors to avoid divisive tendencies within the party.
The
recently victorious Sheriff, while speaking in Abuja to the party
leaders from the South-West paid him a solidarity visit begged for peace
and unity.
Senator Sheriff, also emphasized that
while governors were important to the party, they must avoid, anything
that will further divide the party.
According
to Vanguard, he then focused on Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state,
who had been quite vocal in criticising the leadership of Senator
Sheriff to “respect himself and respect the PDP.”
Some
members of the PDP in the House of Representatives have threatened to
drag Senator Ali Modu Sheriff to the Supreme Court in a bid to upturn
the recent Appeal Court judgment which made him national chairman.
