Nigerian protesters vandalise MTN head office in Abuja over xenophobic attack in SA

Some angry Nigerians today staged a protest at the MTN Head office in Abuja. The protesters told newsmen that they decided to stage the protest following the recent xenophobic attacks in South Africa in which some Nigerians were physically attacked while their businesses were raised and some rendered homeless by the South Africans.

The incident however coincided with a visit by MTN chairman Phuthuma Nhleko to the Nigerian capital to see Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, who has been in charge for the last month in the absence on sick leave of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Police were immediately called in to disperse the protesters but they however carted away some phones and money and destroyed some valuable properties before the police intervention
