Following
the recent robbery attack on Member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC),
in the State, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Social Re-orientation,
Mr Ekpeno Gold, has
assured that the State Government, under Governor Udom Emmanuel, will wade into
the situation, to ensure security of the Corps Members.

Gold gave the assurance, yesterday, while speaking at the Lodge of the Nigeria
Christian Corpers
Fellowship (NCCF), at Abak Road, Uyo.
Addressing the Corps Members, the Governor's Aide said
he was saddened by the news of the attack, but however urged them not to allow
the incident make them lose faith in God.
Gold who also attended the Weekly Fellowship of NCCF,
he admonished them to continue living in righteousness, he said they should see
their deployment to Akwa Ibom State as a blessing, and further stressed the
need for them to always show appreciation to God for sparing their lives, even
with the incident.
He condemned the attack but hower assured that the
State Government will wade into the the poor state of the lodge to secure the
lives of the Corpers.
He said Governor Udom Emmanuel is security conscious
and will put security measures in place to ensure the Corpers have a successful
service year in Akwa Ibom State.
"Governor Udom Emmanuel is security conscious, especially when it comes to the youth. He is passionate about youth
development in Nigeria and will come to your aid because he is concerned about
your welfare and security as Nigerian youths.
He described Akwa Ibom State as a land of
opportunities, noting the State Government under Governor Udom Emmanuel is
concerned about youth employment.
"Akwa Ibom is a nice place, it is a land of
opportunities, you can even stay here after your service year because the State
Government has put everything in place to ensure the youths are gainfully
employed", Gold noted.
While inspecting facilities at the lodge, Mr Gold
said, "I don't want you to be sad or distracted over what happened, but I
want you to be encouraged because the road to success is rough. I thank God
that no life was lost. I will make a formal report to the Governor to make
there is security here", he said.
He advised the Corpers to shun sin and ungodly
attitude by living a holy life, adding through such decision, they would be
able to enjoy abundant grace from God.
President of NCCF, Yinkafabiyi Olayinka, who conducted
the Governor's Aide round the lodge, said they he was delighted at Mr Gold's
gesture and show of concern and appealed to the Government to ensure a quick
completion of the lodge.
