Hebrews 11:20-21 KJV
“By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come. By
faith Jacob, when he was a dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph; and
worshipped, leaning upon the top of his staff.”
In our discussion on faith, I want to draw your attention to how it affects the family. Faith cannot be excluded from family affairs; in fact, family affairs are literally impossible without faith. You need faith to stay married, it is needed to trust your spouse.
It takes faith to believe for a change in your spouse, faith is needed every step of the way. Also, when it comes to children and their future, faith is an absolute inevitability.
Isaac didn't have to feel like blessing Esau and Jacob before he did so, he simply blessed them by faith. He blessed them in hope, trust and faith.
This is because faith is the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen.
Blessing your child or children by faith becomes necessary; especially when that child is tough, stubborn or generally difficult.
At such a point, you need faith to do the blessing. You will have to get passed the ugly side of your child and attempt seeing the future that lies ahead of them.
Every time you feel frustrated and feel like speaking a bad or wrong word over your child or children, just then, receive grace to turn it into a blessing over them.
Remember that God turned Balaams curse to a blessing? He didn't even get to utter any curse before God took over his mouth and made him bless the people.
You owe your children a blessing before you leave this world, and even before you become too old.
It is your covenant responsibility and you must execute it; but you must learn to do it by faith. We walk by faith and not be sight, and sight here refers to everything that belongs to the five senses.
If you bless them by faith today, they will arise and call you blessed tomorrow in Jesus Name.
Assignment
i. Determine and select days in which your children will be blessed by you.
ii. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you bless them when you are upset, and that no ugly word should ever come out of your mouth concerning them.
Prayer
-Lord please change my heart to always bless my children in Jesus Name.
-Holy Spirit please help me never to carry out my feelings of frustration on my children in Jesus Name.
Nugget
You need faith to stay married, it is needed to trust your spouse; even when it comes to children and their future, faith is an absolute inevitability.
