Mbo Local Government is the most oil producing area in Oro nation and by extension Akwa Ibom State.
Too many roads and projects have been earmarked for Commissioning as part of activities to mark the second year in office of His Excellency Deacon Udom Gabriel Emmanuel.

Pictures 3 and 4 show the 3.2KM road in Ibaka that is commissioned by the Governor today. Picture 1, 2 and 5 show the deplorable and impassable major road to Ibaka.

A critical look at pictures 1 and 2 show how a typical okada rider who fell into the stagnant water struggled with his passengers. I waited patiently for them to give way for me to pass.

I took pain to drive to Ibaka just to see things for myself. Ordinarily, I won't have pressured my car that much on such a rigorous and unprofitable journey but for the sake of my "voiceless people", I had no option.

Soon after the visit of Her Excellency, Mrs Martha Udom Emmanuel to Ibaka to commission kiln, a mechanized outlet for the preservation of seafood, we were told that contract on Enwang - Ibaka road has been awarded.

That two weeks from that day, contractors would be mobilized to site. Since then till now, there is no sign of road construction as it is evident in the pictures

What is the rationale in commissioning 3.2KM road leading to Delmar Petroleum Harbour and Tank Farm while the major road that trucks will pass is yet to be constructed as seen in pictures 1, 2 and 5? I could hear men of protocol unit of the Governor and drivers complained bitterly about the road.

Even the road that is commissioned today is very substandard considering the heavy duty trucks and equipment that are expected to patronize the tank farm which we are told would be the biggest and the best in West Africa just like the mirage Ibaka Deep Seaport. The Governor arrived 6:08 PM and left 6:41PM when the people had waited since 10:00 AM.

How would he even know that the technical composition and make up of the road won't survive two months uninterrupted rainfall when he couldn't go round to see things for himself?

Very unacceptable this is happening in Mbo Local Government, my own place of origin. Apart from the said road, nothing else to show in Mbo for the two years anniversary celebration.

This government isn't fair to Mbo!
