Research has shown that 5% of the people make things happen, 25% watch things happen while 70% are not aware things are happening.

Interestingly, those 25% are not quiet observers but vociferous armchair critics who do not care how policymakers arrived at their decisions or what informed the level of implementation.

They don't contribute ideas, opinions or alternative policies but are always quick to castigate those who dared to act.

Nothing could be more painful.

More than any other race on the earth, the Oro nation, especially after the 2015 Pan-Oro agitations for the Hilltop Mansion, need to review the methodology of its quest for survival in the Akwa Ibom State political space.

Many Oro leaders who fall within the creative and inventive 5% were insulted, mocked and accused of being sellouts by the "siddon look" 25%. Not only were this 25% grossly misinformed, they became agents of division in our midst. But we have a future to prepare for and the past is a reliable ally.

Thus I'm one of those who believe the Oro Think Tank were inspired when they chose the theme for this maiden roundtable. I'm particularly impressed by the rider: The Past, The Present and The Future.

Re-examining The Past will give us an opportunity to interact with our history and political struggles from the perspective of our elders, especially from those of them who were actors.

The Present is us evaluating our current realities in the Akwa Ibom project as well as ascertaining what our elders and youths are up to.

The Future is us planning for the future we desire armed with experience, history and wisdom from our elders.

Evidently, we are on the move again. Your opinions will count for nothing if you don't use this platform created by the Oro Think Tank to contribute to their knowledge bank.

Wednesday 17th May 2017 is upon us, where will you be? I plead that you join us at the Oron Civic Centre.
Or will you remain a part of noisy 25%, the non existent 70% or move in to swell up the rank and file of leading 5% with your attendance?
The choice is yours.
