2019: "Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District Race", Women Group Adopts Sen. Akpabio Again, Promise to Acquire Nomination Form

Women across the 10 local Government Areas of Ikot Ekpene senatorial district, under the aegis of Market Women Association have adopted the immediate past governor and currently the Minority Leader of the current Nigerian Senate, Sen. Godswill Akpabio for 2019 Ikot Ekpene senatorial district senate race.


The group headed by Deaconess Magdalene Udoh from Obot Akara L.G.A in agreement with her executives and the entire members of the forum broke the news last weekend during their last general meeting which took place at the residence of the President of the group in Ikot Ekpene on Saturday 7th 2019.

The women guaranteed their total support to the Minority Leader of the Senate Chief Dr. Godswill Akpabio beyond 2019, adding that they were still enjoying the land mark achievements of the red chambers legislator in the National Assembly and were proud of him to return to the Senate come 2019.

The national president welcomed and commended leaders of the local government areas for their commitments towards the growth and development of the organization and also for standing by the leaders of the forum as well as always queuing behind the political decisions of the forum.

She said because of the unity found in the association in 2011 and 2015 respectively they were able to produce all the political office holders under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party and were prepared to secure a re-election nomination form for the Senate Minority Leader and the Senator representing Ikot Ekene Senatorial District Dr. Godswill Akpabio to continue in his present office beyond 2019, adding that the decision comes after assessing his notable achievements since he was inaugurated in 2015 and called on the people of the district to support the former governor to return again as a senator come 2019.
