I have just spoken with Hon. Robinson Uwak, the former member of the
House of Representatives who was arrested last Friday by the Police in
Abuja and detained at the Asokoro Police Station.
The outspoken
former lawmaker was arrested on the instigation of some dubious and
oppressive politically exposed individuals from Akwa Ibom State as a
'punishment' for the arraignment of a serving member of the House of
Representatives, Nse Ekpenyong by the EFCC for forgery. Uwak spearheaded the petitions which led to the arrest and arraignment of Mr. Nse Ekpenyong.
Recall that a brother to Senator Godswill Akpabio was recently caught on tape boasting of his connections with the security agencies and intention to assassinate Robinson Uwak.
Contrary to the falsehood peddled on social media by sponsored elements, there is no case of fraud against Uwak.
The Inspector General of Police ordered his immediate release. The plan was to keep him till Monday when they planned to charge him to court on trump-up charges. They have been disgraced.
Let's see who win!!!
