Former member representing Urue Offong Oruko in the Akwa Ibom state House of Assembly, Hon. Uno Etim Uno has assured that, the people of Urue Offong Oruko Local Government Area will cast their votes for Governor Udom Emmanuel in 2019 and support his administration till 2023.
Hon. Uno who is currently a member of the House of Assembly Service Commission, made he pledge at the Methodist Church Nigeria, Oyubia Diocese in Urue Offong Oruko, during the Akwa Ibom Youth Prays Service for March 2017 Edition held in the Church.
The March Edition of
Akwa Ibom Youth Prayer Conference was held @ Methodist Church, Eyulor -
Urueffong Oruko LGA with the theme: CONNECTING TO GOD'S PURPOSE.
The former legislator said Governor Emmanuel is serving the state with
distinction and has already earned national recognition and Award as a
performing governor.
Hon. Uno called on the people to support the
governor for the many good works he has done in Oro nation, including
roads both completed and ongoing and for revisiting the Etebi-Enwang
road and initiating a massive road project in Udung Ukor.
He however
pleaded with the governor to visit Urue offong Oruko and kick off the
road project he promised the local government as he has done in other
places.
In his welcome address, Special Assistant to Governor
Emmanuel on Youth Matters and Chairman Akwa Ibom Youth caucus, Comrade
Aniefiok Iwaudofia charged the youths to fear God & remain focused
in order to fulfill God's divine purpose.
Comrade Udofia stated that,
gone are the days when youths in Akwa Ibom were identified with
political thuggery, cultism and other social vices, but that, the youths
are retracing their paths to destiny and a great future by Connecting
to their creator.
He thanked Governor Emmanuel for the support,
encouragement, investment and platform he has given to youths to excel
and pledged continued support of youths for the governor and his
administration.
Comrade Udofia said the youths of the state will
continue to take their prayer conference round all the local government
areas of the state and persistently seek the face of God almighty in the
affairs of youths and the state at large.
Delivering words of
counsel to youths, a one time Deputy Governor of Akwa ibom state, his
Excellency, Ambassador Etim Okpoyo, commended Governor Udom Emmanuel
for restoring sanity, the fear of God and peace to the state, harping
that his administration is founded on righteousness. Okpoyo charged
youths to take advantage of the conducive environment and inspiration
from Governor Emmanuel to excel.
The former Deputy governor also
thanked Governor Emmanuel for constructing roads and social
infrastucture in Oro Nation and developing other parts of the State and
charged him to remain fair and focused.
In his keynote address,
the state governor, His Excellency, Mr Udom Gabriel Emmanuel, who was
represented by the Honourable Commissioner for Works, Mr Ephraim
Inyangeyen urged youths to seek God in the days of their youth as that
is the only pathway to a glorious future.
Governor Emmanuel
stated that, what is required first is the restoration of connectivity
with our creator since without the fear of God, men will live
carelessly, maintaining that, except there is a spiritual rebirth the
youths and indeed the older generation cannot achieve much.
The
governor who posited that, since God is a must in our lives for purpose
to be fulfilled, all his human creation, with particular reference to
youths must strive to be born again as only spiritual rebirth and the
fear of God is the sure pathway to succeeding in life's pilgrimage.
Governor Emmanuel assured Urue Offong people that, in a weeks time, the
road project covering Asak Ikang -Etisong - Okobo Road and Abiakowo
-Akai Udo - Atak Idiang -Osu-Eyesin-Oduo-Isuk-Adaeba Road will be
profiled for construction, reiterating the irrevocable resolve of his
administration to construct at least one major road in each local
government area before his first term ends in 2019.
Highlights
of the service was prayer for the governor, his adminsitration and the
state by the Lord Bishop of the Methodist Church Nigeria, Oyubia
Diocese, The Rt. Rev. Uduakabasi Akpan, praise worship, the word
ministration and thanksgiving.
Several dignitaries attended the
service including, the chairman, Board of Internal Revenue, Mr Okon
Okon, Mrs Kenim Onofiok, Youth Caucus Chairman of Urueffong Oruko, Hon.
Umana Efombruh, Dakkada Coordinator of Urueffong Oruko, Mr. Victor
Amba, special assistants to Governor Udom Emmanuel, former and serving
political office holders, youth groups and leaders, among many others.
